Mr. Boyd Alton "Al" Merchant, age 63, of Beaverton, AL, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Merchant was born February 21, 1962, in Vernon, AL, to the late Dick Himon and Jessie Mae Merchant.  He was a bundle person at the garment plant and an upholstery worker.  Enjoyed being with his family and helping his friends and family.  He was also enjoyed cooking and known for cooking the best meatloaf and grilling burgers.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Rickey Merchant, and two sisters, Eva Jo Merchant and Lois Hanson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 26, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. James Godsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Wofford Cemetery.  Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Foster, Ethan Foster, Jessie Merchant, Bobby Richie, Billy Herron, and John Brandon.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Merchant, of Beaverton, AL; one daughter, Ashley (Derrick) Foster, of Winfield, AL; one son, Rick (Ashley) Merchant of Moore, OK; five grandchildren, Ethan and Lora Foster, and Kaylee, Julee, and Jaxon Merchant; one sister, Patsy Nichols of Cedartown, GA; and a host of other family and friends.
