Mr. Albert Staggs, age 87 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Mr. Staggs was born June 15, 1929, in Lauderdale Co., AL, to the late Hobert and Mary Staggs. He served in the U.S. Army and Korean War and was a machine operator. Mr. Staggs was also a minister at Staggs Chapel for 25 years. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Reuben Staggs.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in the Crossville Community with Kevin Sudduth officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1-2 at the church prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Staggs of Vernon, AL; one son, Cecil and his wife Vicki; two daughters, Cecelia and Janice; one sister, Dorothy Morgan; one brother, John W. Staggs; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a his loving and devoted church family.
