Miss Amber Nicole (Nicky) Shelnut, age 21, of Warrior, AL, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.
Miss Shelnut was born July 30, 1992, in Columbus, MS, to Tommy and Tracie Shelnut. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Louise Shelnut, and her maternal grandmother, Allene Fields.
A memorial service will be Monday evening at 7:00 in the funeral home chapel with Wes Jones officiating. Visitation will be Monday 5-7 prior to the service.
Survivors include her daughter, Ryley Alexis Downs of Warrior, AL; her parents, Tommy and Tracie Shelnut of Warrior, AL; two sisters, Britney Cantrell of Warrior, AL and Lindsey Shelnut of Columbus, MS; one brother, Will Shelnut of Warrior, AL; her grandfather, Harlon Fields of Millport, AL; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Nicky Shelnut Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of Vernon, P.O. Box 309, Vernon, AL 35592. All donations will go Teen Challenge.
