Mrs. Arma Nell Webber McDougle was called to her eternal home at her residence in Omaha, NE on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was the offspring to the union of the late Mr. Gene Webber and the late Mrs. Elmire Cribbs Webber. She was born October 27, 1939. Arma was united in holy matrimony to Tom R. McDougle and to this innermost union, there was a son, Leonard McDougle. Leonard was an everlasting bundle of joy and love that filled Arma's life. Later, Leonard facilitated that happiness by growing the family by giving Arma three beautiful grandchildren. Arma was born in Vernon, AL and attended school in Vernon. She later moved to El Paso, TX. After leaving El Paso, she made her permanent home in Omaha, NE, where remained until she departed this life. She also enhanced her education at a community college in Omaha, NE with a concentration in business. Arma acquired a fantastic position at AT&T and worked diligently for years until retirement.
Arma Nell had a magnificent personality. She would keep you laughing, would always show love, was very personable, and was immensely generous. She loved to go bowling and was in a bowling league for many years. She traveled over the country bowling, always meeting and befriending people. She never met a stranger. She loved her family and friends. Her life demonstrated what is denoted in 2 Peter 1:5-7. She was a member of Mount Calvary Community Church in Omaha, NE until she was summoned to her eternal home.
Arma was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Gene Webber and Mrs. Elmire Cribbs Webber, her son, Leonard McDougle; and three of her beloved sisters, Mrs. Ollie G. Neal, Mrs. Olean Salters, and Mrs. Mamie Ann McCrary.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 24, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Willie Sanders officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery on the McGill Gin Road. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Salters, Jeremiah Salters, Sims O. Holmes, Jr., Jeffery Salters, Alan Wade Manning, and Anthony D. Downs. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Hollis, Joe Lee Neal, Ricky Truelove, Billy Wayne Coleman, Danny Joe Hollis, and Larry Salters. The flower bearers will be family and friends.
Arma Nell leaves to cherish her loving memories: three grandchildren, Alisia Marie McDougle of Columbus, OH, Avonta McDougle of Council Bluffs, IA, and Kailynn Giebelhaus of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Mary Alice Webber and Ludie Bell Hollis, of Vernon, AL; a friend who was like a sister to her, Patricia Williams of Omaha, NE; her very special nephew, Randy Hollis of Omaha, NE; special cousins, Lois West and Isabella Pennington of Vernon, AL; two nieces with whom she depended, Carol J. Holmes and Mary F. Spears of Huntsville, AL; and a host of other loving nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and associates.
