Mrs. Barbara Ann McAdams, age 74 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Fayette Medical Center-DCH.

Mrs. McAdams was born April 8, 1939, in Lamar Co., AL to Effie Lee Jones and the late Leroy Jones. She was a nurse and enjoyed reading, painting, and flower gardening. In addition to her father, Mrs. McAdams was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks McAdams; one sister, Patsy Jones; and two brothers, LeFoy Jones and Billy Jones.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Jerry Grammer and Doug Bridges officiating. Graveside services will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening 6-8.

Survivors include her three sons, Wayne (Shirley) McAdams of Vernon, AL, Wade McAdams of Columbus, MS, and Kenny McAdams of Vernon, AL; her mother, Effie Lee Jones of Millport, AL; two grandchildren, Justin (Rachel) McAdams and Angela (Leith) Pennington both of Vernon, AL; four great-grandchildren, Tyler McAdams of New Hope, MS, Brylee Pennington of Vernon, AL, Zoey McAdams of Vernon, AL, and Cooper McAdams of Vernon, AL; five sisters, Carolyn (Joe) Brown of Gordo, AL, Cecilia (Mike) Roney of Millport, AL, Jane Linley, Janice Gilliland, and Brenda Cockran of Millport, AL; one brother, Ricky (Sharon) Jones of Vernon, AL; two sisters-in-law, Ann Jones and Liz Randolph; and a host of nieces and nephews.
