Mrs. Betty Jean Pennington, age 93, of Millport, AL, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Pennington was born January 16, 1930, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Lonnie T. and Annie May Moore.  She worked several years at Seminole Manufacturing in Columbus, and was married to the late Junior Ray Pennington.  She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jamie Stephens; her brother, Luther Moore; and five sisters, Melba Moore, Christine Clearman, Nancy Stockman, Ruby Mitchell, and Jo Graham.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Glen Boman officiating.  Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be 11:00-1:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jason Nichols, Bryan Pennington, Ronnie Oakes, Frankie Beasley, Nick Birmingham, and Doyle Mitchell.

Survivors include her son, Phillip (Angela) Pennington; two daughters, Brenda (James) Davie and Anita (Terry) Robertson; four grandchildren, Wendy (Jason) Pennington-Nichols, Delinah (Nick) Birmingham, Kayla (Justin) Flye, and Bryan (Tara) Pennington; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Johnson and Helen Hayes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
