Billy Eugene "Gene" Richardson

Mr. Billy Eugene "Gene" Richardson, age 81, of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Arabella Health and Wellness in Vernon.

Mr. Richardson was born November 7, 1944, to the late J.W. and Estelle Presley Richardson.  He worked in sales management for Hibbetts Sports.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 6, at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Pastor Warren Richardson and Pastor Bobby Richardson officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sulligent.  Visitation will be 3:00-4:00 prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Richardson of Vernon, AL; two sons, Robert Eugene (Amy) Richardson of Columbus, MS and Cory LeDon (Amy) Richardson of Nashville, TN; one step-son, Michael (Lori) Hall of Tuscaloosa, AL; one step-daughter, Martha (Billy) Guyton of Vernon, AL; ten grandchildren, Austin James "Robbie" Richardson, Taylor Richardson, Garrett Richardson, Laurel Richardson, Thomas Guyton, Nikki Hall, Corey Hall, Nikki Teague, Jessica Freeman, and Deanne Wilson; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
