Mrs. Brenda Kay Newell Hunt, age 71, of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Hunt was born June 18, 1950, in Caledonia, MS, to the late Willie B. and J. Nita Guin.  She was a quality control inspector at Chromalox, and was married to the late Barry Hunt.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Irvin, and infant brother, Jerry Guin.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 6, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Joe Moseley officiating.  Burial will follow at New River Cemetery in Eldridge.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Hunt, James Pennington, J.T. Shackelford, Joey Adams, Justin Rye, and Michael Matthews.

Survivors include one daughter, Tyrena Kay (Brad) Estes, of Hamilton, AL; one son, Wesley Joe (Brandy) Newell, of Vernon, AL; four grandchildren, Whitley (Justin) Rye, Joey Adams, Hannah Newell, and McKenzie, Newell; two great-grandchildren, Enzlee Hollis and Ember Rye; and one sister, Kathy Anderson, of Vernon, AL.
