Mrs. Burma Jordan, age 91, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Mrs. Jordan was born March 18, 1935, in Monroe County, MS, to the late Authur Lee and Susan Armiza Heard. She was a bookkeeper and was married to the late Henry Paul Jordan. Mrs. Jordan was a hard worker and retired from WEJ Trucking in her eighties. She loved her church, she loved to travel, and she loved to watch Alabama football. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheri Jordan Roberson, her brother JB Heard, and her sister, Myrle Northington.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 3, at 11:00 AM, at Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Gary Seay and Bro. John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Andrew Prewitt, Dewayne Northington, Levi Northington, Lee Rogers, and John Northington. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Northington, Wayne Northington, and Shawn Arnold.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Suzette Jordan, of Greenville, SC; her sister, Ruby Easter, of Gattman, MS; two grandsons, Hunter Keith (Sydney) Roberson and Haden Richard (Emily) Roberson; two great-grandsons, River Roberson and Grayson Roberson; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Brake and Sarah Arnold; her step-sister, Betty Gory; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be sent to the Free Will Baptist Children's Home of Alabama, 86 Academy Drive, Eldridge, AL 35554.
