Burma Jordan

Mrs. Burma Jordan, age 91, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

Mrs. Jordan was born March 18, 1935, in Monroe County, MS, to the late Author Lee and Susan Armiza Heard.  She was a bookkeeper and was married to the late Henry Paul Jordan.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Jordan Roberson, her brother JB Heard, and her sister, Myrle Northington.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 3, at 11:00 AM, at Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Gary Seay and Bro. John Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula Suzette Jordan, of Greenville, SC; her sister, Ruby Ester, of Gattman, MS; two grandchildren, Hunter Keith (Sydney) Roberson and Haden Richard (Emily) Roberson; two great-grandchildren, River Roberson and Grayson Roberson; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Brake and Sarah Arnold; her step-sister, Betty Gory; and a host of nieces and nephews.
