Mr. Danny James Mason, age 74 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Generations of Vernon.

Mr. Mason was born August 6, 1947, in Anniston, AL, to the late Marshall G. and Irene Benefield Mason.  He was the sports director at the University of Tennessee.

Mr. Mason chose to be cremated, and the family will have a memorial service at a later time in Georgia.

Survivors include his brother, Ron (Barbara) Mason, of Gainsville, GA; his nieces and nephew, Leslie (Olliver) LeHir, Justin (Dara) Mason, and Holly (Mark) Gregory; and his great-nieces and nephews, Jake and Joshua LeHir, Broooklyn and Kinsley Mason, and Andrew and Sarah Kate Gregory.
