Rev. William David Hayes, age 75 of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015, at his residence.

Rev. Hayes was born March 6, 1940, in Pickens Co., AL, to the late Hilton and Mildred Hayes. He served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. Rev. Hayes served as a Free Will Baptist minister for over 45 years after being ordained at the age of 17.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00 in the funeral home chapel with Danny Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-3 prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hayes of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Michelle (Chris) Robertson of Vernon, AL and Theresa (Jonathan) Beasley of Millport, AL; four grandchildren, Macy Robertson, Mallory Beasley, Addie Beasley, and Atticus Beasley; three brothers, Jerry Hayes, Larry Hayes, and Roger Hayes; three sisters, Lorine Long, Lisa Colburn, and Brenda Sparks; his uncle, Robert Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.
