Mrs. Donna Lynne Oakes, age 61, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Oakes was born January 27, 1963, in Adamsville, AL, to June McCulley and the late Donald McCulley.  She was a homemaker and was married to the late Thomas Jerry Oakes.  She was also preceded in death by a host of aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 6, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Alan Magouirk and Bro. Jonathan Oakes officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kennedy Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be William Jolley, Derrick Hopson, Anthony Stidham, Travis Smith, Landon Wilson, and Frank Harrison.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, June McCulley, of Vernon, AL; one daughter, Katelyne (William) Jolley of Vernon, AL; one son, Kerry (Kristy) Gosa of Guin, AL; and four grandchildren, Gracie, Ainsley, and Colvin Jolley, and Lillian Barnes.
