Dorathy Lee Taylor Bowen, age 80, departed this life to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Mrs. Bowen was born November 24, 1944, in Isola, MS, to the late Nollie Lee Taylor, Sr. and Hazel Dean (Barham) Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of almost 60 years, William Titus Bowen. She worked along side him at their business of 50 years, Bowen Backhoe Service. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She never met a stranger and was such a blessing to all that knew her. She was a faithful member of the Steens Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, at 12:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Pete Bowen and Tim Gentle officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be 11:00-12:00 prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Titus Bowen, Joe Bowen, Wesley Bowen, Matthew Holzman, Brandon Coleman, and Phil Sprayberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Quint Bowen, Brent Bowen, and Keith Holzman.
Survivors include three sons, Quint Bowen, Brent Bowen, and Wesley Bowen, all of Steens, MS; two daughters, Angela Holzman (Keith) of West Point, MS and Katina Snapp of Steens, MS; 10 grandchildren, Dustin Bowen, Titus J. Bowen (Kailee), Rachel Coleman (Brandon), Joe Bowen, Ashley Bowen, Alayna Bowen, Matthew Holzman, Lyndsey Snapp, Emilee Bowen, and Harley Bowen; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Nollie Taylor, Jr. (Jennifer); and four sisters, Maggie Hickman, Barbara Bryant, Angie Holley, and Patsy Sprayberry (Phil).
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses of Legacy Hospice and Baptist Hospice.
