Dorothy "Dot" McGee

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" McGee, age 85, of Millport, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

Mrs. McGee was born December 11, 1940, to the late Robert and Magdalene Gilliam.  She married Bonzell McGee on July 27, 1957, and they enjoyed 35 years before his passing.  She was blessed with the abilities to do many things over her life.  She owned and operated Beauty Rama Beauty Salon, Flowers by Dot, and Lacky Superette.  She was a care giver to her husband, parents, and sister, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by her husband, Bonzell McGee; her parents; her sister, Ruby Humbers; her granddaughter, Harley Ruffin; her great-grandson, Noah Ruffin; and her daughter-n-law, Gail McGee.

A graveside service will be Friday, November 6, at 2:00 PM, at Walnut Grove Cemetery, with Danny Butler officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jake McGee, Hunter McGee, Charles Ruffin, Ricky Hayes, Tony Hayes, and Jake DuBose.

Survivors include her children, Steven McGee (the late Gail McGee) of Aberdeen, MS, Rita (Greg) Ruffin of Millport, AL, and Brian (Gwen) McGee of Millport, AL; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary (Kenneth) Cash of Kennedy, AL; a host of nieces and nephews; and members of Kingville Church of Christ.
