Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Irene Perkins, age 96, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Perkins was born December 1, 1923, in Dawson Springs, KY, to the late Wiley S. and Fleecy Lee Rogers Yielding.  She was a bookkeeper, and was married to the late Elvin G. Perkins.  Mrs. Perkins was also preceded in death by two sons, Steven (Bob) Perkins, Sr. and James (Richard) Perkins; one granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Perkins; three brothers, Frank Yielding, Wiley Yielding, and Roger Yielding; one sister, Jewel Fowler; and one step-brother, Lewis Rogers.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:00 at the Vernon First United Methodist Church with Gene Lankford officiating.  Burial will follow at Sanders Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 at the church prior to the service.

Survivors include one son, John (Birdie) Perkins of Marianna, FL; seven grandchildren, William Perkins, Marc Hensley, Jay Perkins, Steven Perkins, Jr., Les Perkins, and Brandy Stevens; ten great-grandchildren, Ashley Perkins, Haley Perkins, Brooke Perkins, Zack Perkins, Corey Perkins, Steven Perkins III, Austin Perkins, Ashlyn Perkins, Dillion Stevens, and Melany Stevens; one great-great-grandchild, Steven Perkins IV; three brothers, Doug Yielding, Walter Yielding, and Jack Yielding; and her niece and caretaker, Brenda Wright.
