Mrs. Dorothy Lou Curry Prater, age 90 of Marietta, OK and formerly of Vernon, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the Lake Country Nursing Center in Marietta.

Mrs. Prater was born December 18, 1922, in Lamar Co., AL to the late Golden and Ruby Curry. She was an accounting clerk for Kraft Foods. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coy Algert Prater, and two sisters, Girthel Wheeler and Doris Jones Vandiver.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with Jerry Prater officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday 10-11 prior to the service.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Phillip Prater of Garland, TX, Jerry T. (Glada) Prater of Ardmore, OK, and Ronald Timothy (Cathy) Prater of Georgia; two brothers, Foy Curry and Paul Curry; four sisters, Chapel Johnson, Lavola Rector, Elaine McDonald, and Sharron Davis; six grandchildren, Donna Deaton, Melinda Phillips, Jeffery Prater, Dustin Prater, Jerry Christopher Prater, and Kristen Prater; and a number of great-grandchildren.
