Charles Edward (Ed) Billingsley, age 86 of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Northport Medical Center-DCH in Northport.

Mr. Billingsley was born May 27, 1924, in Lamar Co., AL to the late Chester and Auneeta Billingsley. He was a TV repairman and served in the Army and World War II.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Mike Nabors officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Freewill Baptist Cemetery in the Crossville Community.

Survivors are his son, Gerald Billingsley of Vernon; two daughters, Patricia Dunn of Louisville, KY and Emily Yvonne Billingsley of Louisville, KY; step-daughter, Pat Fondren of Vernon; sister, Mary Hopper of Uvalde, TX; a number of grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Billingsley; son, Danny Billingsley; step-son, Phillip Logan; and his parents.
