Mr. Eddie Ray Pennington, age 73, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Pennington was born February 1, 1950, in Sulligent, AL, to the late William Elbert and Virginia Eloise Pennington.  Mr. Pennington served two years in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver.  He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Billy Wayne Pennington and Eugene Pennington.

A private family service was held Friday, March 17, at 12:00 PM, from the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Eddie Finch officiating.  Burial followed at Wofford Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chris Crimm, James Rogers, Ronnie Rogers, Randy Rogers, Josh Rogers, and Chris Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Pennington, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Jamie Ray (Meagan) Pennington of Pontotoc, MS and Eric Scott Pennington of Vernon, AL; and four grandchildren, Austin, Morgan, Mason, and Myles Pennington.
