Mr. Edgar J.B. Taggart, age 87 of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Taggart was born October 19, 1926, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late B.C. and Etma Taggart.  He served in the U.S. Army and Navy and World War II and was a factory worker at United Technologies.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Taggart; a brother, Paul Taggart; and two sisters, Schlene Guin and Mary Taggart.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Tim Meherg officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be Friday evening 6-8.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Taggart of Livingston, AL and Don (Theresa) Taggart of Vernon, AL; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, John W. (Ramona) Taggart of Vernon, AL and Bryan R. (Mary) Taggart of Baker, FL; his wonderful caregiver and friend, Audean Corkren of Vernon, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
