Obituary
Edwin Zadus Turner, Sr., of Vernon, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Turner was born January 10, 1923 to the late Walter Lloyd and Eudocia Turner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, retired from the Alabama National Guard, and was the city clerk for the City of Vernon.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 16, at 2:00 at the First Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Vernon City Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 at the church prior to the service.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Turner of Vernon; two sons, Zadus (Martha) Turner, Jr. and Joe (Diane) Turner, both of Vernon; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Warren Young Turner, of Aberdeen, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lloyd and Eudocia Turner; infant son, Walter Turner; brother, J.Y. Turner; and sister, Doris Sizemore.
