Obituary

Mrs. Erma Hall Ussery, age 93 of Hoover, AL and formerly of Vernon, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.

Mrs. Ussery was born August 15, 1919, in Buhl, AL, to the late George and Effie Franklin and was married to the late John Ussery. She was a lunchroom manager for the Lamar County Board of Education.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rachel Gonia and Patrick Gunn officiating. Graveside services will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery in Millport. Visitation will be 10-11 prior to the service.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Marston of Hoover, AL; two granddaughters, Michele (Lee) Picard and their children Daniel, Wesley, and Stephen of Hoover, AL and Pamela Marston and her son Jacob; nephew Larry Dewight Kemp of Hazelhurst, MS; niece Geneva (Charles) Bradford of Pensacola, FL; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Vernon First United Methodist Church, 250 1st Street NE, Vernon, AL 35592 or to the Hoover First United Methodist Church, 1934 Patton Chapel Road, Hoover, AL 35226.
