Mr. Eugene Harrison, age 84 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Mr. Harrison was born November 19, 1929, in Lamar Co., AL to the late Dewey and Pearlie Harrison. He was in the timber business and a member of the Bethel Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 at the Bethel Church of Christ with Jeff Harvill and Jesse Phillips officiating. He will lie in state at the church 1-2. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening 6-8 at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Harrison of Vernon, AL; his son, Ricky Gene (Rhonda) Harrison of Vernon, AL; his daughter, Lita (Kevin) Fields of Millport, AL; four grandchildren, Jeff Harrison, Amy (Jonathan) McNees, Dawn Fields, and Daniel (Katie) Fields; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Hannah Crowe; and one brother, Tirus (Ann) Harrison of Gulfport, MS.
