Obituary
Mrs. Donnie Faye Greer, age 73 of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Highlands Cashier Hospital in Highlands, NC.
Mrs. Greer was born September 1, 1939, in Lamar Co., AL to the late Marshall D. and Dollie Pennington. She was a home engineer and a member of Nebo United Methodist Church. Mrs. Greer was also preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Marie Pennington.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:00 at Nebo United Methodist Cemetery with Terry McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1:30-3:00 at the church prior to the service.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Greer, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Mike (Mary Kay) Greer of Birmingham, AL and Mark Greer of Vernon, AL; four grandchildren, Brandy Davis, Jake Greer, Josh Greer, and Savannah Greer; two great-granddaughters, Lilly Beth Davis and Ella Davis; one brother, Dan (Linda) Pennington of Nashville, TN; one sister, Peggy (Mike) Glasgow of Vernon, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nebo United Methodist Church, 3852 Highway 18, Sulligent, AL 35586 or Highlands Cashiers Hospital, 190 Hospital Drive, Highlands, NC 28741.
