Mrs. Frances Hardy, age 91, of Vernon, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Hardy was born July 26, 1931, in Vernon, AL, to the late Andy and Tezzie Robertson.  She was a graduate of Lamar County High School, and was the first homecoming queen in 1948.  Mrs. Hardy was a member of Bethel Church of Christ, a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Hardy; three brothers, Fred Robertson, Avery Robertson, and Paul Robertson; and two sisters, Sue Pennington and Mary Nan Aldridge.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Jonathan Wheeler officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Noah Porter, Alan Pennington, Ray Pennington, Lance Pennington, Andy Robertson, John Paul Robertson, Brian Robertson, and Tommy Standridge.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa (Scott) Porter, of Fayette, AL; her grandson, Noah (Samantha) Porter, of Fayette, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
