Mrs. Frances Vandiver Harrison, age 90, of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Harrison was born October 22, 1934, in Vernon, AL, to the late Ben and Valera (Box) Vandiver.  She received her Administrative and Bachelor's degrees from Vaughn Business College and worked as an administrative secretary for the Sanford Company, and then later for Emmett Sanford Oil and Gas Enterprises.  She was married to the late Coach Ellie Hugh Harrison, and was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Martha Shepard and Mary Conner.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 24, at 5:30 PM, at Vernon City Cemetery, with Terry McAdams officiating.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Black, Mark Thomas, Henry Smith, Burt Hankins, Johnny Robertson, Johnny Glasgow, Tony Taylor, Mike Covington, Mitch Covington, William Turner, Zadus Turner, Jr., and Don Dollar.

Survivors include her son, Ben (Lisa) Harrison of Vernon, AL; her daughter, Carrie (Steve) Watts, of Vernon, AL; one granddaughter, Anna Claire (Chase) Lee, of Orange Beach, AL; one great-grandson, Micah Lee, of Orange Beach, AL; two nieces, Carol Johnson of Topeka, KS and Pat Sims of Columbus, MS; one nephew, Gene Shephard of Columbus, MS; and a host of other family and friends.
