Mrs. Ginger Dale Rasbury Collins, age 62 of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Mrs. Collins was born June 15, 1951, in Guin, AL to the late Carl and Dee Rasbury. She received her bachlors degree from Troy State and her masters degree from MUW formerly known as MSCW. Mrs. Collins taught kindergarten at Vernon Elementary then sixth grade at Vernon Intermediate School. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Vernon. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her niece, Carrie Cook, and her great-nephew, Brady Stanford.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 at First Baptist Church, where she will lie in state 1-2, with David Woods and Don Dollar officiating. Burial will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening 6-9 at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Collins, of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Lindsay Collins and Katherine Collins (John Cunningham) both of Vernon, AL; two sisters, Dianne (Clay) Swanzy of Fairhope, AL and Carlene Newman of Vernon, AL; one brother, Savelle (Kai) Rasbury of Vernon, AL; four nephews, Michael Swanzy, Chris Cook, Tyler Newman, and Clay Rasbury; two nieces, Tiffiney Stanford and Leigh Hanratty; three great-nieces and great-nephews, Brantley Stanford, Addison Hanratty, and Jackson Hanratty; three granddogs, Charlie, Marlee Kate, and Maggie Beth; and a host of special friends and students.
