Mrs. Gloria Perkins Christian, age 81 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Generations of Vernon.

Mrs. Christian was born February 16, 1936, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late Roy G. and Ida Bell Perkins and was a retail clerk for a number of years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Christian was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Delano Christian; her daughter, Donna Kessler; and her brother, Gorman Perkins.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Beckon officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Free Will Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon 1-2 prior to the service.

Survivors include her son, Danny (Cherry) Christian of Vernon, AL; two grandsons, Derek (Ashley) Christian of Northport, AL and Daniel Christian of Nashville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Ayden Christian; one brother, Paul (Helen) Perkins of Niceville, FL; one niece, Debbie (Otis) Baucom of New Hope, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
