Harold Lee Spears was the fourth offspring born to the union of the late Mr. Luther Spears and the late Mrs. Marie V. Nelson Spears on November 20, 1950. Harold's alluring, adventurous, and fruitful life attained its summit on Friday, November 11, 2016, when he departed this life at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
Harold was united in holy matrimony to Mary Francis Coleman Spears on August 18, 1973, and later added to this intimate union was a son, Derek Delon Spears.
Harold's life was a compilation of love, laughter, helpfulness, generosity, and integrity. He acquired a position with NTN-Bower Corporation as a machine operator and worked for many years before enacting upon retirement. He became a member of the Mt. Zion #2 C.M.E. Church at a very young age and remained a member until he was summoned to eternal home.
Harold's hobbies were fishing, watching and attending various universities and professional sporting events. He loved sports and enjoyed watching CNN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Marie V. Nelson Spears, one sister, Irene Q. Clifton, and one brother, James A. Spears.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory: a loving former spouse, Mary F. Spears of Huntsville, AL; one son, Derek Delon Spears of Portland, OR; one brother, Lamar (Jurdene) Spears of Dayton, OH; a very special relative, Lee Vera Terrell of Hamilton, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
