Mrs. Helon Merchant Delk, age 90, Millport, AL, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Delk was born April 10, 1933, in Vernon, AL, to the late Mutt and Jettie Lee Merchant.  She was a homemaker and was married to the late Maurice D. Delk.  She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Leah Gilliam, and her brother, Larry Merchant.

There will be a graveside service Tuesday, August 1, at 11:00 AM, at the Asbury Cemetery, with Mike Rogers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Merchant, Talbert Essary, Lee Hannah, Keith Mitchell, Eddie White, Alan Pennington, and Lance Pennington.

Survivors include her two sons, Kenneth (Judy) Delk and Randy (Phyllis) Delk; two grandchildren, Rachel (Jay) Wood and Nathaniel (Sloan) Delk; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Francis (Coy) Haney and Winnie Chloe White; and a host of nieces and nephews.
