Mrs. Herma Jean Vaughn Jones, age 90, of Steens, MS, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus.

Mrs. Jones was born May 21, 1933, in Steens, MS, to the late Herman H. and Louise Vaughn.  She was a member of Steens Church of Christ and was a homemaker.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones; one brother Franklin Vaughn; and two sisters, Lena Sue Vaughn and Martha Thronbrough.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 28, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Allen Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Christian Chapel.  Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Kollin Jones, David Thronbrough, Gilbert Prater, Cary Hudson, Scott Hudson, and Mark Hudson.

Survivors include her son, Kim (Kathryn) Jones, of Hallsville, TX; her daughter, Charlotte Savage, of Quitman, TX; five grandchildren, Michelle, Leigh Ann, Christina, Kollin, and Kaleb; four great-grandchildren, Alecca, Blake, Aubriee, and Ethan; six great-great-grandchildren, Mazlyn, Jay, Breccan, Braddox, Holden, and Lee; two sisters, Betty (Bobby) Hudson and Haidyee Vaughn, both of Steens, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
