Mr. Horace Wyatt Hamby, age 71 of Forkland, AL, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis.

Mr. Hamby was born April 12, 1946, in Fayette, AL, to Willa Dean Sewell and the late David Wyatt Hamby.  He was a school teacher his entire life.  Mr. Hamby was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Hamby; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Lawrence and Mrs. and Mrs. Charlie Hamby; his step-father, A.D. Sewell, and his step-brother, Mike Sewell.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 at Bethel Church of Christ with Eddie Finch officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday morning 10:00-11:30 at the church prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Tim Crain, Alex Crain, Hunter Crain, Lloyt Lawrence, Jimmy Sewell, and Jerry Sewell.

Survivors include his mother, Willa Dean Sewell; daughter, Amy (Tim) Crain of Toccoa, GA; three grandchildren, Alex Crain, Hunter Crain, and Anna Crain; two step-brothers, Jimmy (Wanda) Sewell and Jerry Sewell; one step-sister, Marsha (Mickey) Harrell; and a host of family and friends.
