Obituary
Mr. Howard Edward Sloat, age 85 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Sloat was born March 19, 1928, in Centralia, IL, to the late Harry and Della Sloat and was a mechanic and framer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Sloat, four brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with James Godsey officiating. Burial will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. Visitation will Saturday evening 8-6.
Survivors include his son, Gene Sloat of Vernon, AL; two granddaughters, Brandy Wilson of Seattle, WA and Kayla Rogers of Fayette, AL; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie Sloat and Larry Sloat, both of Centralia, IL.
