Mrs. Imogene Williams, age 86, of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away Thursday, October 16, at her residence.
Mrs. Williams was born February 17, 1939, in Millport, AL, to the late Clarence and Mary Idell (Gault) McGee. She was an automobile parts inspector for the American Bosch Company as well a Tupperware and Avon representative. Two of her more favorable occupations were being the school secretary for Max Newman at Millport High School, and as the church pianist at South Carolina Baptist Church. She was married to the late Redus Williams for 62 years, and was also preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Shackelford, and her sister-in-law, Dean Wallace.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 23, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Buddy Abernathy officiating. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Todd Shackelford, Tim Shackelford, Joshua Garrett, Jacob Garrett, Jared Garrett, and Bruce Dunkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Danleigh Bryant, Mark and Sandy Bryant, Greg and Deborah Fields, and Dan Richards.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharryn (Bruce) Dunkin of Tuscaloosa, AL; her grandson, Nicholas Matthew (Shelby) Dunkin of Gulf Breeze, FL; two great-grandsons, Judah Michael and Theodore "Theo" Henry Dunkin; one sister, Diane Garrett; and five nephews, Todd Shackelford, Tim Shackelford, Joshua Garrett, Jacob Garrett, and Jared Garrett.
The family would like to say a special thank you to DCH Regional Medical Center, Dr. Susie Wright, Moundville Health and Rehab Center and staff, Enhabit Home Health, Enhabit Hospice, Dr. William Rosenblatt, Golden Triangle Internal Medical Resident Clinic, Dr. Keisha Lowther, Cornerstone Care, Chris Powell, Youshekia Green, Lisa McMullen, Shawn Lewis, and Angie James.
