Mrs. Jacqueline Kay Bradford, age 75 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019, at her residence, under the care of Hospice of West Alabama.
Jackie was born November 1, 1944, in Columbus, MS, to the late James Grafton and Alvrie May Oakes. She worked for 37 years at OMNI International, and worked exclusively in the manufacturing sector serving as plant manager and retiring as Director of Purchasing. Jackie served on OMNI's Executive Committee for Quality and Customer Satisfaction for 15 years. Jackie was married to her husband, Harvey Bradford, for 59 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grands. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wilda Jo Curtis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with James Godsey officiating. Burial will follow at Oakes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 1:00-2:00, prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joey Lann, Micheal Robinson, Coby Bradford, Todd Cantrell, Tucker Cantrell, and Kyle Lucas. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Harvey Bradford of Vernon, AL; her three children, Debra (David) Lann, James Bradford, and Teresa (Tim) Cantrell, all of Vernon, AL; seven grandchildren, Joey (Alisha) Lann of Vernon, AL, Kandi (Micheal) Robinson of Vernon, AL, Coby (Jordan) Bradford of Millport, AL, Toshia (Kyle) Lucas of Vernon, AL, Todd (Jana) Cantrell of Vernon, AL, Tucker (Katie) Cantrell of Vernon, AL, and Coy King of Sulligent, AL; eleven great-grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Laura Beth Lann, Cooper Lann, Kylee Lann, Baby Robinson (due in April 2020), Steeler Bradford, Beckham Bradford, Asher Lucas, Abygail Lucas, Ansley Jo Cantrell, and Avery Cantrell; four sisters, Carol (John) Kraemer, Betty Ann Bennett, Joyce Markham, and Bettye Bradford, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A special thank you for their compassion and excellent patient care to Dr. Stidham, Dr. Pandey, Dr. Evans, and the staff of Manderson Cancer Center in Tuscaloosa. Also, a thank you to Jonathan Beasley and his amazing staff at Beasley's Pharmacy for going above and beyond with compassionate care.
