Mr. James Edward Boman, age 95 of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Morning View Estates in Fayette.

Mr. Boman was born December 14, 1922, in Vernon, AL, to the late Grady Monroe and Mary Frances "Fannie" Boman.  He was in the U.S. Army and served in World War II and the Korean War.  Mr. Boman earned his B.S. degree from Auburn and was a soil scientist for the Department of Agriculture.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed being with his family.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Boman was preceded in death by his infant son, Jimmy Wayne Boman; his infant great-grandson, Grady Boman Smith; two brothers, Russell Boman and John Hollis Boman; and one sister, Joy Faye McGinty.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Ray and Judge Ed Gosa officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Banks Boman of Vernon, AL; two sons, Glenn Edward (Carol) Boman and William "Bill" Grady (Sherry) Boman, both of Vernon, AL; one daughter, Lyn (Dr. Nolan) Boman Hudson of Mt. Brook, AL; seven grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Boman Wagley, Natalie Boman, Zachary "Zac" (Allison) Edward Boman, Stephanie (Jeremy Givens) Hudson, Lee Hudson, Brittany (Chris) Boman Welsh, and Kelsey (Philip) Boman Guyton; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Gloe Watson; and a host of family and friends.
