Mr. James Hubert Brown, age 80, of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo.

Mr. Brown was born January 15, 1943, in Oneonta, AL, to the late Elton and Nancy Ellen Brown.  He served and retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wade Brown.

Funeral services will be Sunday, April 9, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Wayne Overton and Bro. David Traywick officiating.  Burial will follow at Furnace Hill.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Matt Gallop, Rob Biggers, Preston Traywick, Logan Merchant, Joey Lewis, and Robert McDonald.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, JoAnn Leavins Brown; two sons, Timothy (Jana) Brown and Ricky (Jan) Lewis; two daughters, Natalee Brundage and Debbie (Terry) DuBose; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
