Mr. James Earl Butler, age 82 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019, at his residence.

James Earl was born July 21, 1936, in Vernon, AL, to the late Obie Butler and Sammie Lee Woods Butler.  He took pride in his business, Butler's Body Shop, and drove for Glasgow Trucking Company.  James Earl was married to the late Martha Butler and they were blessed with two daughters, Brenda Butler DuBose and Janice Butler Birmingham, then they were later blessed with three grandchildren, Leashia Kyzer, Jonathan Birmingham, and Taylor DuBose.  James Earl was also blessed with three great-grandchildren named Kyzer Jimenez and Aubrey and Lakelyn Christmas.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Beckon officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00-8:00.

James Earl is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Butler DuBuse and Janice Butler Birmingham, both of Vernon, AL; two brothers, Richard Butler and Dalton Butler, both of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Nellie Butler Morrison and Mellie Butler Morrison, both of Fayette, AL; three grandchildren, Leashia Kyzer, Jonathan Birmingham, and Taylor DuBose; three great-grandchildren, Kyzer Jimenez and Aubrey and Lakelyn Christmas; and a close family friend, Trey Christmas.

James Earl is was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Butler; his parents, Obie Butler and Sammie Lee Butler; and three sisters, infant Joyce Butler, Reba Butler Morrison, and Eulene Butler Bobo.
