Mr. James Rudolph "Rooster" Carter, age 72 of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Noland Hospital.
Mr. Carter was born March 24, 1945, in Philadelphia, MS, to the late Roy Rudolph and Della Jane Carter. He was a truck driver.
Funeral services will be Wednesday evening at 6:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Winn Prescott officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service 4:00-6:00.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Carter of Vernon, AL; four sons, Scott Carter, Chris Carter, Brian Carter, and Keith (Kim) Carter, all of Vernon, AL; four grandchildren, Cullin Carter, Micah Carter, Madison Carter, and Bristol Carter; two sisters, Sandra Stokes of Montgomery, AL and Carolyn Boykin of Lawrenceville, GA; one aunt, Janice (Jack) Holman of Millport, AL; and one uncle, Jerome Carter of Northport, AL.
