Obituary
Mr. James Ernest Price, age 92 of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Mr. Price was born May 30, 1921, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late James "Jimmy" Riley and Ada Price. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening and coon and bird hunting. In addition to his parents, Mr. Price was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Hattie Price; seven brothers, Vannah Price, Travis Price, Shirley Price, Grady Price, Rayburn Price, Barney Price, and Angelo Price; and two sisters, Clora Hester and Flora Hollis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 at Mt. Olive Church of Christ, where he will lie in state 10-11, with Sonny McLellan and Travis Brown officiating. Graveside services will follow in the adjoining cememtery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 5-8 at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (Jodie) Hollis of Sulligent, AL and Belva Jean (Ronnie) Redus of Vernon, AL; one son, Ronald Price of Vernon, AL; eight grandchildren, Betty Colley, Lynn Hollis, John Redus, Tim Redus, Rachel White, Paul Redus, Randall Price, and Regina Gray; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.
