Mr. James Henry Holley, age 97 of Sulligent, AL, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Mr. Holley was born October 5, 1921, in Vernon, AL, to the late Lonnie Pink "LP" and Ethel Holley. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Holley also owned a dry goods store and was married to the late Frances Crump Holley. He was also preceded in death by his son, Larry James Holley; three sisters, Nell Barnes, Annie Rose Westbrook, and Jean Collier; and one brother, Joe Holley.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Keith Rhudy, Frank Miller, and David Myhan officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship South cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 12:30-2:00 prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will James Barnes, Anthony Burnett, Joseph Burnett, Dennis Collier, Mark Collier, and Lonnie Westbrook. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Crowly, Gary Cox, Jerry Mays, Eddie McNees, Frank Miller, and David Pitts.
Survivors include his son, Eddie Holley (Susan Scott) of Hamilton, AL; one daughter, Lenora Holley of Madison, MS; one granddaughter, Stephanie (David) Myhan of Madison, MS; two great-grandchildren, Houston and Jordan Myhan; and one sister, Sarah Crowley.
