Mr. James Alro Moore, age 92 of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Moore was born January 12, 1926, to the late William David and Cora Jane Moore. He served in the Korean War and was a truck driver. Mr. Moore was also preceded in death by five brothers, Willard Moore, Claris Moore, Carl Moore, Dallas Moore, and William Moore; and five sisters, Balma Bowen, Edith Weeks, Dovie Rooker, Ola Huguley, and Gracie Moore.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Rhudy, Bro. Dan Turman, and Bro. Max Bobbit officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00-3:00 prior to the service.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Moore of Vernon, AL; three sons, Rickey (Shirley) Moore of Vernon, AL, Larry (Gwen) Moore of Vernon, AL, and Dennis (Stefani) Moore of Fayette, AL; nine grandchildren, Cindy (Jody) Dockery, James "Jim" (Somer) Moore, Jason (Lori) Moore, Kevin Moore, Jamie Keating, Tracy Moore, Austin (Tiffany) Belk, Ashton Moore, and Cody Weston; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Mae McGough of Kenosha, WI; and a special caregiver, Jackie Oglen.
