Mr. James Lowell Wheeler, Sr., age 82 of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Wheeler was born November 8, 1934, in Lamar Co., AL, to the late Hezzie Carl and Flaudie Etma Wheeler. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was the special events coordinator for Coca-Cola. He was also a member of Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 3:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Thompson and Bro. James Waldon officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in the Hightogy Community. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon 1-3 prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Paul Wheeler, Alex Wheeler, David Spann, Austin Spann, Brian Nichols, and Zachary Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be the Mt. Harmony Sr. Sunday School Class and Wade Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Wheeler of Vernon, AL; one son, Jimmy Wheeler of Vernon, AL; two daughters, Vickie (Ray) Reed of Caledonia, MS and Cheryl (Rodney) Sizemore of Sulligent, AL; one brother, Farrell (Faye) Wheeler of Vernon, AL; two grandsons, Brian Keith (Nickie) Nichols and Zachary Reed; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Wade, Gabe, and Ainsley Nichols; and a host of other family and friends.
