Miss Jasmine Domonic Williams, age 30, of Vernon, AL, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Jasmine was born March 26, 1991, in Amory, MS, to her birth parents Shealio Swanigan and Cortez Sparks. Jasmine also became the daughter of Clarence and Pamela Williams. Jasmine was a member of United Baptist Church in Vernon, AL, and accepted Jesus Christ into her life at a very early age. She was the youth Sunday school teacher and the Music Director. Jasmine was a faithful member of United Baptist Church until God called her home. Jasmine graduated from Lamar County High School in 2009. Upon graduation, she joined the work force and was employed by Jack's, Sitel, Shop and Save, and Maxx Homes. While at these jobs, she made numerous lifelong friends. Jasmine was overjoyed upon the news that she was going to be a mother, and was already so in love with her baby girl. She loved talking to her and reading to her, and on October 23, 2021, she got to meet her precious baby girl who she named Eve Kay Owens. She spent the day admiring her, talking to her, and making sure she knew she loved her so much. Jasmine will forever spend her days admiring Eve, talking to her, and making sure she knows everyday just how much she loves her as her guardian angel.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Pastor David Williams officiating. A graveside service will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Ben Marchbanks, O'Neil Hollis, Landon Williams, Bradley Shelly, and Prestin Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Smith, Larry Smith, Sylvester Williams, Scott Westbrook, Willie Swanigan, Chad Hood, Joe Washington, Kenny Stewart, Jerome Swanigan, Dietrich Smith, William Jenkins, and Jay Clark.
Jasmine is preceded in death by her grandfather, John Walker, of Vernon, AL; her grandmother, Jalee Swanigan, of Vernon, AL; her aunt, Terri Kay Clark, of Vernon, AL, and her sister, Carmella Thomas, of Atlanta, GA.
Jasmine leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Eve Kay Owens; Eve's father, Eric Owens; her parents, Clarence and Pamela Williams of Vernon, AL, Shealio Swanigan of Vernon, AL, and Cortez Sparks of Sulligent, AL; her brothers and sisters, Shaconda Garrett of Russellville, AL, Courtney (Eric) Cox Nail of Hamilton, AL, David (Dina) Williams of Caledonia, MS, Jonathan (Esha) Walker of Hamilton, AL, Justin Walker of Vernon, AL, Remeko Cox of Hamilton, AL, Adarius Harris of Columbus, MS; three very special brothers, Prestin Walker, Braylyn Walker, and Memphis Walker, all of Vernon, AL. Jasmine also leaves behind to mourn her special grandmother, Helen Walker of Vernon, AL; and her special aunts, Martha (Joe) Washington of Vernon, AL, Florine Harrington of Indianapolis, IN, Odessa (Sylvester) Williams of Columbus, MS, Tammy (Kenny) Stewart of Columbus, MS, and Mary Cook of Vernon, AL.
