Jerron Andrew Barnes, age 12 of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, in Vernon.
Jerron was born October 14, 2004, in Winfield, AL. He was in seventh grade at Vernon Intermediate School. Jerron was a very loving and caring child who never met a stranger. He idolized his big brother, Jaeger, and wanted to follow him around everywhere. He also loved going to the beach and meeting new friends to swim with. As a youngster, Jerron played baseball. He enjoyed going to Memphis Redbird baseball games where he would try to catch a foul ball, but instead of keeping the ball, he would give it to another child who did not have one. Jerron also liked helping people to do things and loved everyone around him. Jerron will be greatly missed by his family and friends and those who knew him for his kindness and tender heart.
Jerron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack Essary, Jim Barnes, and Jan "Black Hair" Barnes.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 4:00 in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Jerry Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon 1:00-4:00 prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be his daddy, Jaeger Barnes, Wayne Robinson, Phillip Barnes, Brandon Hamilton, Matthew Barnes, Mike Covington, Shaun Bynum, Carl Carrona, and Shawn McAdams. Honorary pallbearers will be students, faculty, and staff at Vernon Intermediate and Lamar Co. High Schools.
Jerron is survived by his daddy and momma, James and Tina Barnes of Vernon, AL; his brother, Jaeger Barnes of Vernon, AL; his grandmother, Martha Essary of Vernon, AL; his aunt, Carla Hamilton of Millport, AL; his uncle, Phillip (Joy Lynn) Barnes of Vernon, AL; his cousins, Ashley (Shawn) McAdams, Kelsey McAdams, Spencer McAdams, Kailey McAdams, Lindsay (Jarrett) Loveless, Jaxon Loveless, Sophie Loveless, Maddie Loveless, Brandon Hamilton, Matthew Barnes, and Carson Barnes; his girlfriend, Alexis Ingram; and a host of other aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
