Mr. Jerry Wayne Rogers, age 78, of Columbus, MS and formerly of Vernon, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Rogers was born December 23, 1945, in Vernon, AL, to the late Bruce and Ila Davis Rogers, and was a retired welder.  He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Scottie Cheyenne Logan; one brother, Bobby Rogers; and four sisters, Elwanda Glasgow, Angela Butler, Marion Fulmer, and Virginia Logan.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 19, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. James Godsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Lampkin Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Rogers, Wayne Rogers, John David Rogers, Junior Rogers, David Lee Rogers, Jessie Wakefield, and Adam Rogers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Myers, Justin Eatman, Mark Kenner, Dick Dippin, and Jeremy White.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Rogers, of Columbus, MS; his children, Michelle O'Mary of Gulf Shores, AL, Amber Rogers of Tupelo, MS, Michael Rogers of Columbus, MS, Jenny Rogers of Ft. Worth, TX, and Jamie Rogers of Columbus, MS; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brothers, Jimmy Wade Rogers, John David Rogers, Wayne Rogers, Junior Rogers, and David Lee Rogers; his sisters, Merlene Christianson, Brenda Netherly, and Teresa Farrish; and a host of nieces and nephews.
