Obituary
Mrs. Jessie Louise Stanley, age 98 of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Stanley was born July 28, 1914, in Vernon, AL, to the late Fred Lawrence and Hattie Wright and was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Stanley; two daughters, Jane Ellen Taylor and Alice May Stanley; her granddaughter, Janet Lane Shackleford; six brothers, Charles Lawrence, Sydney Lawrence, Harvey Lawrence, Max Lawrence, Price Lawrence, and Leo Lawrence; and four sisters, Frankie Hawkins, Lily Crawford, Martha Parker, and Mary Curry.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bubba Dees and Derek Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 12:30-2:00 prior to the service.
Mrs. Stanley is survived by her grandson, David (Ann) Taylor of Vernon, AL; two great-grandchildren, Jason (Rachel) Gilliam and Tiffany (Matt) Turner; two great-great-grandchildren, Cayson Gilliam and Katelyn Gilliam; her sister, Betty Rector; her brother, Billy (Janette) Lawrence; and other numerous family and friends.
