Mrs. Jewel Lucas, age 81 of Sulligent, AL, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, March 23, 2015.

Mrs. Lucas was born August 23, 1933, to the late Rev. W.D. and Omie Newell Glasgow. She was a seamstress and was a faithful member of Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church and loved old gospel songs. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lucas was also preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Hollinsworth and Orlan Lucas; her son, Billy Wayne Hollingsworth; two sisters, Mary Helen Glasgow and Linda (Denver) Garrison; and one brother, David Sherman Glasgow.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 28, at 2:00 from the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home with Thad Hawkins and Wade Peoples officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Mrs. Lucas is survived by step-son and caregiver, Danny (Diane) Lucas of Sulligent, AL; her sisters, Evelyn (Ray) Bevis of Jasper, AL, Jean Gosa of Michigan City, IN, Edgilee (Hulon) Bobo of Vernon, AL, Brenda Estes of Forestdale, AL, and Janice (David) Salters of Mt. Olive, AL; her brothers, Bill "Junior" (Ellen) Glasgow of Millbrook, AL, Edward (Glenda) Glasgow of Bay Minette, AL, Danny (Ann) Glasgow of Jasper, AL, Jackie (Clarice) Glasgow of Bay Minette, AL, and Mike (Debbie) Glasgow of Jasper, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
