Obituary
Mr. Jimmy Russell Cooper, age 83 of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
Mr. Cooper was born September 10, 1932, to the late William and Ova Cooper. He served in the U.S. Army and Korean War and was retired from the Columbus Police Department and did some farm work. He was married to the late Eva Mae Cooper and was preceded in death by their son, Frankie Cooper, and his two brothers, Vanes Cooper and Charles Cooper.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:00 at Smith Cemetery with Willard Pless officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Dan (Samantha) Cooper of New Hope, MS and David (Marilyn) Cooper of Athens, AL; three grandchildren, Chris (Britney) Cooper of Madison, AL, Joshua Humbers of New Hope, MS, and Jessica Humbers of New Hope, MS; and one great-grandchild, Quinn Cooper of Madison, AL.
