Mr. Bobby Joel "Jody" Godsey, age 49, of Vernon, AL, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Jody was born July 20, 1973, in Vernon, AL, to the late Bobby Joe Godsey and Brenda Carol "Penny" Shackelford Godsey.  He was a 1992 graduate of Lamar County High School and was a truck driver.  He was an active member of Celebration Worship Center, and he and his wife April were parents of many foreign exchange students.  He enjoyed spending time and traveling with family and friends. His passion was riding his Harley with his buddies.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 24, at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Brian Reeves and Bro. James Godsey officiating.  A graveside service will follow at Celebration Cemetery with Bro. Lynn Godsey and Bro. Dillion Jones officiating.  Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, April Godsey, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Dylan (Tabitha) Godsey of Berry, AL and Logan (Typanga) Godsey of Vernon, AL; one grandson, Carter Godsey; one brother, Jackie Godsey of Vernon,AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
