Mr. Johnnie Daniel Hooper, age 96 of Warren, MI and formerly of Millport, AL, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Sanctuary Nursing Facility in Warren.

Bro. Hooper was born June 10, 1916, in Lowndes Co., MS to the late Samuel and Lillie Hooper. He was a long time faithful member and song leader of the West Side Church of Christ in Vernon, AL. After the passing of his wife, Annie Louise Hooper, he relocated to Michigan where he attended the North Broadway Church of Christ until his health failed. In addition to his wife and parents, Bro. Hooper was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with Edward Cribbs officiating. Graveside services will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Friday 1-2 prior to the service.

Bro. Hooper leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Samuel (Christine) Hooper of El Paso, TX, Jessie L. Hooper of Warren, MI, and Leroy D. Hooper of Mount Clemens, MI; his daughter, Annie P. (Henry) Harrington of Mount Clemens, MI; three sisters, Lillie Hooper Cribbs of MI, Bessie Hooper Reed of Vernon, AL, and Rosetta Hooper Phelps, formerly of Columbus, MS; his brother, Cecil Hooper of Mount Clemens, MI; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
